Folded paper

As a girl I saw my mom fold a piece of paper and make a meal plan on it. She would plan the main dish for a month at a time. I have also used the folded page for the same thing. If you fold it in half the hamburger way 3 times and thirds the hot dog way, you have squares for 4 weeks and an extra column at the end for the next grocery list.

I want to track the time it takes to do this quilt. I have made one for that purpose. I sat it on the chair that is by the door to my sewing room.

The quilt in it's place

Scott sent pictures this morning of the quilt in the girl's room. WOW! I must say it looks GOOD!!!
This is how the size is on the bottom bunk. It is touching the wall but not hanging down the back. Maybe a ruffle or lace around the edge would work. What do you think?
I'm am so happy with the way this turn out. It has been a long time in coming!

Lots of pinning tonight

I have done that much pinning of the layers together tonight on the first half of this quilt. It is going so much faster on this quilt since I know what I'm doing this time.

Just a side note. Tonight Jeffrey was looking for stuff in the garage and found the sunglasses I lost over a month ago. Thank you Sweetie!

The First Finished Quilt

This is a picture of me with the first quilt the night I finished it. Now it is ready to put in a box and send. I am trying to get the back of the purple one started and put together tonight.

A Tangled Thread

My sewing machine was sounding loud as I sewed the binding on the last edge of the quilt. I happened to notice one of the spools spinning as I tried to sew. As I got it stopped, the usual tangled thread came up in the needle and bobbin. I fixed that and saw a white thread coming out of the fly wheel. I just kept gently pulling on it. I turned the fly wheel by hand for a long time. This tangle of thread is what I pulled off. I am so thankful it came off so I can finish this quilt tonight and get started on the purple one.
