My Trip to Washington DC November 2013

Friday afternoon these are the machines we got Metro passes.

These scenes were lining the walkways into the World War II Memorial

Coming around the bend to look up at the  Lincoln Memorial 

was a sight to take your breath away!

I wish I had taken a picture of the Korean War Memorial. It was soldiers in rain ponchos carrying guns and they were trudging through fields. The looks on their faces were haunting. Even though they were stone, they looked so real.

Saturday In-N-Out at the American History Museum

The talk President roosevelt gave right after Pearl Harbor. on the first line it was change from world history to infamy 

Waiting in line to go in the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

We walk what seemed like the full length of Washington D.C. from the National Archives down to see the White House. It was a long walk.

Sunday morning at the Air and Space Museum Wright Brothers bicycle They learned a lot of what they needed to know about airplanes from the bicycles.

The Washington D.C. Temple on Sunday afternoon. We also stopped of at the Visitor Center. It was decorated for Christmas.

The Enola Gay - It dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima August 6, 1945

The Space Shuttle Discovery - It was very interesting to listen to the docent talk about it. To see it in person, it looks pretty beat up. 

Sunday afternoon walk back to the hotel

Christine and I as we left the hotel for our trips home.

I got lots of cuddle time with Kenny. Love that pup!
